would like to start by saying it was a warm and sunny May Bank Holiday, but
those who were there know the truth! Cold, wet and windy! But, that didn't stop
five BWFAC athletes taking part, and managing to come home with 11
medals between them!
U11Girl
Katrina Kelly was well placed in a large field for the 75m
with a time of 12.3sec. Katrina went on to win bronze in the 150m sprint
with a time of 25.2 and finished off with a PB in the long jump of 3.10m to
finish 4th.
Also
a surprise entry Joe Riley (brother of Sophie and therefore
arch enemy no1- her words not mine!) competed in the U11Boys events and
gained gold in long jump with 3.84m, bronze for the 75m in 11.00 and bronze in
the 150m with 22.8.
U13Girl
Sophie Riley brought back three golds. No-one could get near
her with times of 10.2 for the 75m, 20.9 for the 150m on the track and 4.01m in
the long jump! Also for the U13's Lindsey O'Brien, took silver
in her first javelin competition with 17.63m and fourth place in the shot with
4.88m. Teammate Holly Wyper gained three bronze medals with 5.28 in
the Shot, 8.46m in the javelin and new PB (by over 4m) of 14.36m in the discus.
U15Girl
Katy Wyper also chalked up three golds with 13.00 in the
100m, 27.2 in the 200m and a long jump of 4.54m. Rounding off a very good day -
well done girls!
