Introduction to the Club

Membership
Anybody is welcome to the Club from the age of 10 years, but please note that a copy of your birth certificate is required if you are only 10 years old. You may come and join in with the different groups to see if this is the kind of sport you wish to do. After 2-3 weeks, you will be asked to join the Club. Our coaches are all UKA qualified. The annual fees vary according to age, with our year beginning on 1st October until 30th September.

Affiliation
The Club is affiliated in Cross Country, Track and Field, Road Running and Fell Running to the U.K. Athletic Association, North of England Association and Lancashire Athletics Association.

Seasons and Events

Winter

  • October to March

Events:

  • There are cross country races for all ages in the Mid-Lancs League, qualifications being 11 years of age or over on the day.
  • Entry forms for County, Northern and National Championships can be obtained from the Clubroo

Summer

  • April to September

Events:

  • National Young Athletes: Boys and Girls U/13, U/15 and U/17 age groups
  • Northern Women's League: Females U/15, U/17 and Senior age groups
  • British Athletic League: Men: Senior and U/17 age groups
  • Mid-Lancs League: Male and Female U/13, U/15, U/17 and Senior age groups
  • Qualification for Under 13 is 11 on or before the 31st August in the year of competition.

N.B.
The Club has entry forms for all Championships, some of which have qualifying standards.

Annual Subscription Rates
The track and indoor fees are payable to Blackpool Borough Council. Track passes can be purchased for three, six and twelve months.

Club Nights
Our Club nights are Tuesday and Thursday. Training is on the track during the summer and different venues in the winter. On Tuesdays in the winter our coaches mainly go into the Sports Hall Indoor Track for circuit training. Some Coaches also train on other nights as well as club nights.

The Club room is open every Tuesday and Thursday night throughout the year. Hot and cold drinks, snacks and sweets can be purchased. The results of meetings are posted on the clubroom notice boards, along with forthcoming events. Any information regarding the running of the Club can be obtained in the Clubroom on Tuesday and Thursday evening.
