Under 13B Ben Everson (left, above), crowned an outstanding 2008/9 cross-country campaign when he finished runner-up in his age group in the McCain UK Cross Challenge. His 9th place in the final event, the Inter Counties cross-country championships in Nottingham’s Wollaton Park, together with his 5th in Liverpool in December 2008 and 2nd in Antrim in January gave him 102 points, just two behind the overall winner, Matthew Arnold of Aldershot Farnham and District, (centre, above). The third placed finisher, Jack Crabtree of East Cheshire Harriers completes the picture’s line-up.
On his way to this success Ben has also registered the following results:
1st Mid-Lancs in Liverpool and Blackpool;
1st Lancashire championships;
2nd Lancashire Schools championships;
3rd Northern championships;
10th National championships.
